Description

What is Kokedama?

Imagine taking your favorite house plant and converting it to a natural material self contained planter.  Kokedama literally means “moss ball.” Take a plant, surround it with soil, cover it with moss and use waxed twine to hold the plant, soil and moss in place.

Care

Watering a kokedama is super-easy.  When the ball feels light, submerge it in water for about 10 minutes.  Let it drain in the sink for another five minutes, and then display.

Display

Display Kokedama or “moss ball” in a dish, on rocks, in a macrame hanger or any other imaginative way.  Kokedama is great for a grouping of plants as the center piece on a kitchen table, counter or side table. Remember to always protect the surface though, because when you first water the plant, they can be a bit soggy.
